The Berlin fashion brand MACQUA was founded in 2004 by fashion designer, Meike Vollmar.
I joined MACQUA as a cofounder in the field graphic design and photography, still being a university student for communication design at the KHB Berlin Weissensee. My work with MACQUA includes corporate design, textile design, print, layout and fashion photography.
“A big dream is made out of many different elements, just like the sun is the summery of its‘ millions of rays. MACQUA is a world of it‘s own, an attitude, bringing together a variety of design-fields in the world of art and fashion. Following intuitions and emotions, going with what comes naturally. We are creatives seeing the world of tenderness and strength, facing a secret…
Yes…life is crazy…Our mission is to always choose wisely our very own form of craziness.
MACQUA is independent from it‘s original sens (Magoi=magic), but still connected.
Everything is based on contrast. Funktion and decoration, rough and smooth, grunge and luxury. Silk meets leather and jersey goes „red carpet“ in a lovestory between male and female. MACQUA is the expression of this harmonic contratiction.”
